Education in Bulgaria

Bulgaria has a well structured but open education system that will allow learning the

skills and gaining the knowledge necessary to compete equally with other European

counterparts on the world business and economic stage

Educational Structure

Pre-Primary Education (3-7 years)

Elementary Education

Primary school (grades 1 - 4), Junior high school (grades 5 - 8). 

Secondary Education

High schools, Vocational school.

Higher Education

Universities, Colleges and Specialized Higher Schools.

Education at state-owned schools is free of charge. The curriculum of Bulgarian Educational system focuses on eight main subjects: Bulgarian language and Literature, foreign languages, mathematics, information technologies, social sciences and civics, natural sciences and ecology, music and art, physical education and sports.
